TRENDS IN TOBACCO AND NICOTINE USE IN THE UK

Home: Welcome

About this website

This online monitoring website has been developed by researchers at the University of Nottingham and the University of Sheffield to collate the available data on key indicators related to tobacco and nicotine use in the UK. This includes indictors such as smoking prevalence, quit attempts and the prevalence of vaping. The data has been gathered from a wide range of national surveys. The data presented here allow the general public, researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders to get an overview of trends both in the overall population, and in target groups such as the relatively disadvantaged.

Click on the tabs at the top of the page to explore each dataset. Hovering over the data series will allow you to see the individual values for each time series. Clicking on the individual labels will remove/apply the data to allow you to compare multiple time series. You can also export, share and print the charts by clicking the dropdown menu at the top of each image (due to data use restrictions/pending permissions this function may not be available for all datasets).

The development of this website is funded by Cancer Research UK and is an expansion of a data monitoring tool developed as part of a NIHR Policy Research Programme-funded project
